South Broward High is a Marine Science magnet school located in Hollywood, Florida. Their mission is to provide each student with a quality education, in a safe and secure environment, through personalization and a rigorous curriculum. Furthermore, their Marine Science Magnet Program is specifically tailored to encourage studies in Marine Science and prepare students for careers in the Marine Science field. The student population is approximately 2,300 and is very ethnically diverse. The socioeconomics range from poverty to upper middle class.
The school offers a wide range of curriculum choices as well as a full range of athletics, clubs and organizations for the students to become active in, including an Ocean Bowl team, Shark Club, GIS and ROV programs. The GIS students can participate in ACT by mapping the cruise.
